About the Department
The Department of Economics in the Post Graduate Centre, Hemagangothri is one of the leading Arts Department dedicated to teaching in Economics. Department of Economics was established in 2014-2015 to study the economical availability of natural resources, business transactions. The course offers an outstanding platform to understand various economic phenomenon. The curriculum has been designed in such a way that the students should be able to take up teaching carrier in future. Every year the Department conduct minimum three day study visit to Special Economic Zone area, various small scale industrial area in order to visualize and learn the ongoing research and advancement in the industries and economic zones. Students are also been encourage to participate in several conferences/workshops organized by different institutions of the country.
Final year students as to work on short term project (IV Semester) which involves various areas of research like industries, agriculture, business, banking and rural development strategies. The Department provides good smart class rooms; teaching staff is highly qualified and has to its credits economic publications in national and international journals.
