About the Department
The Department of Library and Information Science (DLISc) established in the year 2016-17 with a vision to “advance the well-being of women community through education in Library and Information Science” aspires, through its various programs, to provide outstanding education in Library and information Science. Through education, and service, the department influences the interdisciplinary understanding, diverse interpretation, creation, and use of the emerging knowledge and information environments of the 21st century through innovative instruction and state-of-the-art technology and offers course–Master in Library and Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.).The department was started with 16 students. Department started student forum called, LISSFA (Library & Information Science Students Forum of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar PG Center, Chamarajanagar), All department activities are organized with the guidance of Prof. Shivabasavaiah, Director Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Post Graduate Centre, Chamarajanagar.
